Edmond Howard Allison, 97, of Goshen and formerly of Swartz creek, Michigan, died Friday morning, July 3, 2009, at Greencroft Healthcare. He had been ill the past two years. He was born in Scott, Indiana, on April 15, 1912, to Fred and Bessie (Howard) Allison. He married Rose Mary Krizan on June 1, 1946, in Flint, Michigan. She preceded him in death. Mr. Allison worked at GM Buick from 1936 to 1971, when he retired as an inspector. A life member of Flushing 4666 VFW, Mr. Allison also belonged to Swartz Creek Senior Center, Pierce Center, Flint Travel Club (KER), DAV, Swartz Creek AARP, Swartz Creek Fine Arts and local union 599. He played baseball in a Shipshewana league. He is survived by a sister, Irene Weirich of Goshen; four nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; and two sisters, Evangeline Troyer and June Nelson. Friends may call 1 to 3 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2009, at The Meetinghouse at Greencroft, Goshen, where a 3:00 p.m., funeral service will be conducted. Rev. George Nantz of the Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church will officiate. Burial will be in Pinetree Cemetery, Corunna, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the DAV.
