Edith M. Yoder

Edith M. Yoder, 86, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, March 13, 2010, at her home. She was born March 29, 1923, in LaGrange County to the late Moses D. and Barbara (Miller) Yoder. On February 28, 1942 she married Ira Yoder. He died May 15, 1982. A lifelong resident of Elkhart County and 1941 graduate of Concord High School, she worked for Goshen Community School for 32 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Waterford Mennonite Church.         She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Moist, Goshen, and Joyce (Rich) Bontrager, Millersburg, three sons, Gordon (Margaret) Yoder, Wakarusa, Terry (Linda) Yoder, and Ronald (Pat) Yoder, both of Goshen,a sister Erma Miller, Goshen, thirteen grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a son, Richard, a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, two brothers, Orva and Fora Yoder and one sister, Mattie Schmucker. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Monday, March 15, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the 11:00 am funeral service on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the funeral home.  Pastors Neil Amstutz and Marvin Yoder of Waterford Mennonite Church will officiate.  Burial will be at Miller Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
