Edgar Earl Peak

Edgar Earl Peak, 90, of Goshen, died late Thursday night, March 26,2009, at Goshen General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born February 7, 1919, in Ramer, Tennessee, to Lou Allan and Lucy (Darby) Peak.  He married Lella Harmon on October 27, 1939, in Marked Tree, Arkansas.  She died May 1, 2000. He then married Myrtle (Denney) Longacre on November 25, 2000.  She survives. Mr. Peak served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1945 to 1947.  He retired as a press operator form Western Rubber Company, Goshen, after 16 years.  He also owned rental properties in Goshen. A member of Maple City Baptist Church, he is survived by his wife, Myrtle; six daughters, Jane (Gary) Fullbright of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Gail (Perry) Yoder, Fay (Michael) LaFary, Brenda Mills, Ann (jerry) Brown and Glenda Uptgraft, all of Goshen; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; two sisters, Edna Hamilton of Goshen and Marie (Rev. bill) Taylor of Earle, Arkansas; and one brother, Bobby Peak of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lella; four brothers, Junior, Howard, Eugene and Robert Peak; and two sisters, Dorothy Rogers and Jessie Holland. Friends may call 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 29, at the funeral home. A 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Don Simmons of Maple City Baptist Church, Goshen and Rev. Dean Linsenmeyer of North Goshen Mennonite Church will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Judes Hospital for Children or Maple City Baptist Church.
