Earl Bowens Earl Bowens, 80, of Goshen, died Sunday evening, May 21, 2006, at Americare Living Center. He was born June 19, 1925, in Hellier, Kentucky, to Harvey and Grace (Kelley) Bowens. Mr. Bowens moved to Goshen in 1960. He had worked in the coal mines in Kentucky and in Goshen area factories. He is survived by five daughters, Linda Bowens, Cathy Ann Conrad, Carolyn Bowens, Clayetta Garcia and Bonnie Bowens, all of Goshen; five sons, James Bowens of Michigan City, Indiana, Gary Bowens of Virginia, Larry Ray Bowens of Rochester, Indiana, David Bowens of Goshen, and Ralph Bowens of North Carolina; a step-daughter, Geraldine Randolph (Michael) Decker of Goshen; 30 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Jo; three sisters, Alkie Church, Ritha Mullins and Vernie Simpson; two brothers, Ellis and Estel Bowens; and a step-brother, Burtley Mullins. Friends will be received 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2006, will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Mel Shetler of Maple City Chapel will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
