E Darlene Miller

E. Darlene Miller, 84, of Millersburg, died late Monday night, June 8, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital where she had been a patient since May 29. She was born in Millersburg on April 3, 1925, to Ray R. and Elnora (Horner) Long.  She married Ralph C. Leatherman on April 13, 1944 in Millersburg.  He died July 24, 1986.  On March 9, 1991, she married Calvin A. Miller.  He survives. A lifelong resident of Millersburg, Mrs. Miller graduated from Millersburg High School in 1943 and attended Goshen College for two years.  She worked as a paraprofessional at Millersburg Elementary School and as assistant librarian at Fairfield  High School until her retirement in 1991, after 23 years.  She was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Millersburg. She is survived by her husband, Calvin; two sons, Joe (Peg) Leatherman of Syracuse, and Jon (Jennifer) Leatherman of Millersburg; two daughters, Molly (Scott) Lung and Jill (Jesse) Garris, both of Goshen; a step-son, Terry Ray (Lori) Miller of Millersburg; a step-daughter, Ann Marie (Gabe) Nila of El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph; a sister, Evelyn Phares; two brothers, Robert and Thomas Long; and a half-sister, Lottie Wilson. Friends may call 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, at the church. A 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Millersburg, with Rev. Bert Pauluhn officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
