Dwight E. Goodwin, 81, of Goshen, died Monday, October 23, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 25, 1936 in Greenbrier, Arkansas to James Allen and Elma Dora (Coble) Goodwin.
He is survived by two children, Deborah S. Goodwin McCarthy of Syracuse and Michael (Stephanie) Goodwin of Goshen; three grandchildren, William Thomas and Raeann Elizabeth McCarthy and Nathan Tyler Goodwin; two sisters, Jim Eva Shull, Kendallville and Reva (John) Anderson of Kirkwood, Missouri and three brothers, Wayne (Sandy) Goodwin of Conway, Arkansas, Carthyl (Peggy) Goodwin of Goshen and Donald (Cookie) Goodwin of Neosho, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patsy R. Kettlebar Goodwin; a son, Thomas E. Goodwin, the first Goshen police officer killed in the line of duty, and two brothers, Eldridge and Harold Goodwin.
After serving with the U.S. Army in Baumholder, Germany, he moved to Goshen in 1963. He worked as a television repairman. His passion for photography started three generations of amateur photographers.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 25, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Thursday funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Jim Shrock will officiate.
Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery.
