Dwayne “Grant” Maust, 66, of Bristol, died Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1958 in Elkhart to Clifford J. and Dorothy J. (Graber) Maust.
He is survived by his wife, Diane (Steury); son, Nickolas Maust of Kalamazoo, Michigan; daughters, Alisha (Trent) Mast of Wawaka, and Ericka (Jay) Potter of White Pigeon, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Morghan, Mallory, Tenley, Hannah, Grant, Cohen and Haylee; and one great-granddaughter, Delilah.
Other survivors include a brother, Gary (Linda) Maust; sisters, Donna (Kevin) Graber, and Crystal (Darryl) Graber; mother-in-law, Lydia Steury; brother-in-law, Matthew (Jennifer) Steury; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Edwin “Bud” Steury.
Grant was a hard worker all his life. He was an exceptional construction worker and home builder. After he retired, he continued working as an excavator. He had a variety of interests, including fishing, hunting elk, bear, and deer, and watching sports. He also was very creative working with his hands, he built a grandfather clock, worked with leather making gun holsters, and even sewed his own suit jacket.
Grant was a fun-loving man who enjoyed telling jokes; loving God and his family were priorities. His grandchildren always knew he adored them.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 9, at Pleasant View Cemetery prior to the service.
The memorial service will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2024 at Pleasant View Church.
