Douglas L. Steele

Douglas L. Steele, 60, died Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born February 14, 1964 at Fort Campbell, Fairfield, Kentucky to James Edward and Bonnie Jean (Baker) Steele.

Survivors include a daughter, Jessica (Seth) Geiser of Goshen; a son, Douglas E. Steele of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Lilly Geiser and Greyson Steele; and a brother, James D. (Jennifer Lawson) Steele of Rockwood, TN.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Heather Steele.

Mr. Steele served in the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm. He was a great handy man and worked for Greencroft Goshen in housekeeping.

Doug was a fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He was an understanding and non-judgmental person who was a great support to his family, especially his daughter, Jessica. He was Jessica’s and Lilly’s best friend. He had a great sense of humor. Facebook Jail inmate forever.

According to his wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.

A memorial service is being planned for 11 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 15589 Co Rd 38, Goshen, IN 46528 (Family Red Shop).
