Douglas Gene Cripe, 83, of Ligonier died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018 at Avalon Village.
He was born Aug. 26, 1935 in New Paris to Roy and Rosa (Welty) Cripe.
On March 19, 1960 he married Vonda Losee in Goshen. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Jim) Mast, Rome City and Holly Slabach, Kokomo; grandchildren, Tom (Stephanie) Cripe, Erica (Idris) Busari, Jason (Laura) Slabach, and Emily Slabach; great-grandchildren, Donavin, Yetunde, Aubre, Oluwatobi, Tolulope, Leah, Olatundun, Money, and America; and brother, Phil (Marilyn) Cripe, Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Flossie Losee, Dorothy Losee, Betty June Cripe and Bob Cripe.
Douglas was a security guard for Supreme Truck Division and a member of People’s Bible Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the NRA. He loved his family and church as well as reading the Bible.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 at Yoder Culp Funeral Home before the 3 p.m. funeral service.
Burial will be at Union Center Cemetery in Nappanee.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or People’s Bible Church.
