Dorothy Louise Snyder

Dorothy Louise Snyder, 90, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, January 3, 2012, at Greencroft Healthcare. She had been in failing health since November 2006. She was born October 26, 1921 in Goshen to the late George and Marie (Alwine) Coyle. She married LaMar "Red" B. Snyder August 29, 1941 in Goshen. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1998. She is survived by a son, R. Terry (Sandy) Snyder of Goshen; a daughter, Linda L. (Stephen) Ewing of Goshen; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a nephew and two nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia L. Sheline. A 1939 graduate of Goshen High School, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, Goshen. A longtime Goshen resident, Mrs. Snyder worked as secretary for Elkhart County Commissioners and Elkhart County Council, retiring in 1986. After retirement she worked for the superintendent of Concord Community Schools. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012, funeral service will be conducted. Pastoral Assistant Pamela Kling, First United Methodist Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be given to First United Methodist Church or Adult Daycare at Greencroft.
