Dorothy J. Rink, 88, of Millersburg, died Wednesday afternoon, September 28, 2011 at Springhurst Health Campus, Greenfield. She was born in Nappanee on June 23, 1923 to the late Earl W. and Adah (Plank) Malcolm. She married Richard J. Rink on June 2, 1946, in Nappanee. He died March 29, 2001. She is survived by a son, David R. (Barbara) Rink of Kokomo; a daughter, Nancy Jean (Roy) Baumann of Fountaintown; five grandchildren, Matthew and Christina Rink, Ethan and Jason (Jessi) Baumann and Jessica (Grant) Siefker; three great-grandchildren, Makenzie Rink, Morgan Siefker and Lily Baumann; and two brothers, Robert Malcolm of Elkhart and George Malcolm of Nappanee. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Malcolm, Lucile Musselman, Alice Long and Doris Malcolm; and two brothers, John and Donald Malcolm. A longtime area resident, Mrs. Rink graduated from Nappanee High School in 1941 and Manchester College in 1944. She was a member of Zion Community Church, Elkhart County Retired Teachers Association and Retired Indiana Teachers' Association. She had served on the Farm Bureau Co-op Inc. Board and the Sunshine Day Care Board, Millersburg. She taught for 25 years in the Fairfield Community Schools and two years at Topeka High School. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 7, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10 a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Zion Community Church, Millersburg, with Pastor Chris Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hancock Regional Hospice.
