Dorothy B. Myers Beer

Dorothy Myers Beer, 99, of Goshen died early Sunday morning, December 12, 2010, at Greencroft Healthcare.  She had been in declining health the past three months. She was born in Decatur on August 6, 1911, to Chauncey and Mary (Burkhead) Bowser.  She married Kenneth B. Myers on April 15, 1934 in Goshen.  He passed away November 4, 1986.  She later married Peter J. Beer on March 6, 1993, in Goshen.  He died November 11, 2002. She is survived by a son, Jerry A. (Eva) Myers of Goshen; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice McCullough; and two sisters, Lorene Pratt and Helen Granger. She graduated from Coldwater High School, Coldwater, Michigan. A member of First United Methodist Church, Goshen, and former member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren, she had worked at Goshen Telephone and Newell’s clothing store. Friends may call 1 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, at the funeral home. An 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastoral Assistant Pam Kling will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church, Goshen.
