Dorothy R. Myers

Dorothy R. Myers, 94, 1325 Greencroft Drive, Goshen died at 6:18 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Goshen General Hospital. She was born to Atlee Burpee B. and Eva (Donat) Wemple on October 25, 1914 in Topeka, Indiana.  She married Leon D. Myer on August 22, 1937 in Goshen with Pastor T.E. George officiating.  Leon died November 5, 1996. Mrs. Myers was a sales clerk for the former Lucile’s Dress Shop in Goshen for 23 years, where she and her husband managed from 1965 to 1977.  She was a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Wallace) Strycker of Goshen; two grandchildren, Denise (Michael) Lawrence of Goshen and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Strycker of Fishers, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Sydney Lawrence; Lou and Emily Strycker; and one sister, Veda Elizabeth Christner of Goshen Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Rev. Bev. Weaver of Goshen City Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Goshen City Church of the Brethren.
