Dorothy Morningstar, 89, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, March 4, 2012, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing after a brief illness. She was born March 2, 1923 in Milford, Nebraska to James and Mabel (Eicher) Klopfenstein. She married Ora Morningstar February 23, 1941 at Olive Mennonite Church. He preceded her in death September 12, 2005. She is survived by a daughter, Jennie (Charles) Kauffman of Sheridan, Oregon; two sons, Allen (Sharon) Morningstar of Zeeland, Michigan and Timothy (Joan) Morningstar of Goshen; eight grandchildren, Michael (Peggy) Morningstar, Michele (Donald) Tate, Matthew (Ann) Morningstar, Marchel (Tracy) Morningstar, Tony (Brenda) Kauffman, Tonya (Brian) Miller, Jonathan (Jamesie) Morningstar and Luke (Gretchen) Morningstar; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith Wogoman of Wakarusa; and three brothers, Theodore and Wilbur (Doris) Klopfenstein, both of Goshen and Keith (Joanne) Klopfenstein, Elkhart. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Zola Rediger, Fern Graber, Bernice Hauder and Betty Jane Klopfenstein; and two brothers, Wayne and Harry Klopfenstein. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Dorothy was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, Goshen. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 8, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. Burial service will be Friday, March 9 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 11 a.m. Memorial Service at Clinton Frame Mannonite Church. Pastor Terry Diener will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to Clinton Frame Mennonite Church for Relief Projects.
