Dorothy Mae Hershberger, 87, of Wakarusa died Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor, where she had resided the past year.
She was born March 5, 1930 in Goshen to John and Fanny (Nisley) Hershberger.
On Dec. 10, 1949 she married Martin K. Hershberger in Goshen. He died Feb. 28, 2010.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Sue) Hershberger of Elkhart, Dale (Deb) Hershberger of Goshen and Wayne (Carrie) Hershberger of Miami, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Lynda Hershberger of Goshen; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and a sister, Mary Rheinheimer of Plymouth.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Galen D. Hershberger, and four brothers, Calvin, Lloyd, Ervin and Jay Hershberger.
Dorothy, along with her husband, Martin, was a lifelong area resident and former owner of Hershberger Heating, Inc. Dorothy was a loving homemaker who was known for her great barbeque chicken. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and sewing and cherished spending time with grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday, Nov. 6, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where an 11 a.m. Tues., Nov. 7, 2017 memorial service will take place. Senior Pastor Frank Ramirez, Union Center Church of the Brethren, Nappanee, will officiate.
Burial at Clinton Brick Cemetery, Goshen will take place prior to the service.
