Dorothy E. Bigler, 88, of Goshen, died Thursday afternoon, May 31, 2012 at Courtyard Healthcare. She was born August 24, 1923 in Goshen to Leo and Ethel (Bowman) Whirledge. She married James W. Bigler, January 31, 1948 in Middlebury. He died June 2, 2011. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Myers and Judy (Nevin) Honderich, both of Goshen; two sons, Steven (Nancy) Bigler of Goshen, and Timothy (Jerrie) Bigler of Kirksey, Kentucky; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Willis (Cheri) Whirledge of Millersburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Grace Darr, Violet Mehl and Elizabeth Daniels; three brothers, Calvin, Ernest and Ellis Whirledge; and a great-grandson. A homemaker and lifelong Goshen resident, Mrs. Bigler was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Goshen. Friends may call 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 3, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2012, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Gene Hollingsworth, First English Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Courtyard Healthcare or American Diabetes Association.
