Doris Mae Cripe

Doris Mae Cripe, 101, of Goshen, passed peacefully at Greencroft Goshen on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

She was born May 24, 1923 to Maynard and Clara Garber in Goshen, Indiana, and graduated from Millersburg High School.

She was a registered dental assistant for many years.

She married Donald Reed on July 27, 1941. They had 3 children, Larry (Jeanette) Reed, Dennis (Diane) Reed, and Barbara Hudson; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 step great-great-grandchildren.

She was an avid milk glass collector and enjoyed going to conventions.

After retiring she did volunteer work at Greencroft Goshen, The window and Chamberlain Elementary School.

On June 16, 2011 she married Lawrence Cripe in Goshen. They enjoyed volunteering at the Goshen Historical Society and were named Historians of the year in 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald, son, Dennis; daughter, Barbara; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; 1 great-grandchild and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A visitation will take place Monday, January 13, 2025 from 12 until the 1 p.m. memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Doris was a member of the Lutheran Church for most of her life.
