Dori E. Keyser

April 2, 1946 — November 21, 2018

Doris “Dori” E. Keyser, beloved sister, aunt and dear friend to all, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Knoxville, Tennessee at the age of 72.

Dori was born on April 2, 1946 to Richard and Louise (Miller) Keyser of Bremen.

Surviving are brothers, Wayne (Mary) Keyser of Union, Michigan, Warren (Doris) Keyser of Seymour, and Jack (Sandy) Keyser of Culver; a sister, Loretta Schrock of Carrollton, Texas; nine nieces; seven nephews; 33 great nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Kim Schultz of Knoxville.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Korman.

Dori was a 1964 graduate of Bremen High School, received her Bachelor’s degree in 1968 from Bethel College, Mishawaka, and her Master’s degree from University of Saint Francis, Fort Wayne in 1973.  She will be fondly remembered in the Goshen community as a teacher of 38 years, coach, mentor, driver’s education teacher and counselor. She continued working with people following retirement, by going back to school to receive her CNA certification.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, yard work and sports. Most importantly she enjoyed serving the Lord. Her love for Him and her willingness to give was evident in every aspect of her life. Dori touched more lives than any of us can imagine. She was a true disciple of Jesus.

Dori has lived in Knoxville the last 2 1/2 years. She attended an adult day program (CADES) where she was the life of the party. While there she was the choir leader many times and often led the group in prayer before meals.
