Doreen Kay Nichols, 49, of Ligonier, passed away at her home Sunday afternoon, February 3, 2013 after battling cancer. She was born October 9, 1963 in Goshen to James Wendell and Juva (Gall) Snavely. She married Jeremy Nichols December 31, 1987 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He survives along with their six children, Chad Nichols of Kansas City, Missouri, Tosha (Manny) Rodriguez of Goshen, and Trent, Brittany, Zachary and Cassie Nichols, all of Ligonier; a grandson, Ezekiah Rodriguez; her mother, Juva Snavely of Ligonier; a sister, Carma L. (Gaylord) Diaz of Ligonier; and two brothers, Michael (Charlene) Snavely of Ligonier and Gregory A. (Nanci) Snavely of North Webster. She was preceded in death by her father, James "Wendell" Snavely September 2, 2009. A homemaker, Doreen attended and was very involved in both Voice Ministries, Elkhart and Faith Fellowship, Syracuse. She loved to worship, garden and attend her children's activities. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 10 at Voice Ministries, Elkhart. A 5 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2013, memorial service will be held at Voice Ministries, 1610 S. Nappanee St., Elkhart. A private family graveside service and burial were conducted at Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to International House of Prayer Michiana or World Missionary Press.
