Dora Zahursky

Dora Zahursky, 97, of Elkhart, died early Monday morning, June 11, 2007 at Valley View Health Care Center.  She was born on February 25, 1910 in Odessa, Ukraine, to Miketa and Mottia (Karpenko) Demerza.  She married Ivan Zahursky in Odessa in 1935.  He died April 21, 1983.   A homemaker, Mrs. Zahursky immigrated to the US in 1950 and moved to Goshen in 1954, coming from Arkansas.  She was a member of the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Goshen.   She is survived by four daughters, Tonia Kidd of Elkhart, Zina (Bill) Smith of Kentucky, Nina McNutt of Florida, and Nadia (Bill) Wegehoft of Osceola; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; three brothers and a half sister.   Friends will be received 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 15, at the funeral home.   A Panakhyda Service will be held on Friday evening at 7:00.   Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Goshen at 10:00 a.m.  Parish Priest Rev. Andrey Pokotylo will officiate.   Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be given to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
