Dora Belle Monschein Aust

Dora Belle "Dora" Monschein Aust, 91, of Goshen, died Wednesday evening, July 3, 2013, at her home after a brief illness. She was born March 19, 1922 in Goshen, to John and Anna (Baker) Bowman. On January 11, 1939 she married Paul J. Monschein. He died September 16, 1958. She later married William H. Aust, who also preceded her in death January 4, 1997. She is survived by five daughters, Charmaine (Paul) Young, of Sarasota, Florida, Mary Anne Cripe, of Carrollton, Georgia, Janet A. (Robert) Miller, of Goshen, Jean (Lynn) Krull, of Goshen, and Jane Monschein, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; a son, Daniel (Janice) Monschein, of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Guy, Fred, Lamar, and Warren Bowman; two sisters, Marie Dresch and H. Irene Gibson; and a son-in-law, Roger L.Cripe. Mrs. Aust was a lifetime area resident and member at First United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and local business owner, owning South Side Soda Shop for 10 years, and working there a total of 30 years. After retirement she also worked at GC Murphy's in Goshen. Friends may visit 1 to 5 Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 funeral at First United Methodist Church, Goshen, led by Pastor Ed Fritz and Pastoral Assistant Pam Kling. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to First United Methodist Church, or Donor's Choice.
