Donnelda "Dee" Loretta Hutton Baer

Donnelda "Dee" Loretta Baer passed away Monday, January 1st, 2024, after a short illness in Elkhart, Indiana.

She was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Risingsun, Ohio to Harry & Hattie Hutton.

She married Ora Daniel Baer, September 28, 1947. She is survived by three children, A. Joan Allberry, Elkhart; Ora Daniel (Nancy) Baer II, Albion and  Steven Ray (Sandee) Baer, Rudyard, Michigan, grandchildren Angela (Curtis Jason) Yoder, Tony (Erin) Allberry, Hattie (Tyler) Preston and Anna (Jared) Kelley. three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dan, son-n-law Robert Allberry, sisters Norma Hutton, Kate Bebout, Louise McMahon, brother John Hutton and grandson Todd Allberry.

Dee lived her life in Goshen and Elhart, Indiana and East Lake, Michigan. She attended Trinity Bible College, Clearwater, Florida. She worked at Star Tank & Boat, the Elkhart Country Welfare Dept. and waitressed at Miller’s Restaurant, The Inn Between and Dandino’s. She owned and operated East Lake Resort in Fibre, Michigan for over 50 years.

Dee enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, making homemade bread and apple pies. Her favorite hobby was fishing, and she was a master at fileting fish. She loved to freeze fish to give to friends and family. She attended Rudyard Bible Church.

Friends may call Sunday, January 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 1 hour prior to funeral service at Yoder Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main Street, Goshen. A 10a.m. funeral service will be held Monday, January 8 at the same location.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
