Donna J. White

Donna J. White, 66, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, October 25, 2011 at IU Health Goshen Hospital after a one week illness. She was born August 10, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri. An orphan, Donna married George White in 1965. He died that year in a motor vehicle accident. Following the car accident, she spent a year in the hospital where she came to a vibrant faith in Jesus. By 26 she was confined to a wheelchair, by 27 she was in a nursing home, and by 32 blind and partially deaf, but not idle. She was an active ham radio operator as well as president of the resident council at Courtyard Healthcare. She organized Bible studies and led fellow residents to personal faith in Jesus. Donna was prayer coordinator for Hope In View, which strengthens churches, particularly in Ethiopia, to do sustainable, holistic transformation of individuals, churches and communites. Donna will be remembered for her sense of humor, her concern for others, and her total lack of bitterness. According to her wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory,Goshen. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Harvest Community Church, Goshen. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be given to Hope In View, PO Box 334, Goshen, IN 46527. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
