Donna Haberstich

Donna Haberstich, 79, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at her home. She had been released from St. Joseph Medical Center on Monday. She was born August 13, 1931 in Syracuse to Romey J. and Lena May (Paugh) Lantz. On August 13, 1950 she married Richard L. Haberstich in Syracuse. He survives with their daughter, Connie (Marvin) Chupp of  Millersburg;two  sons, Bruce (Vicky) Haberstich and Curt (Debbra) Haberstich, both of Goshen; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Haberstich  ,a brother, Charles Lantz, and two sisters, Alice and Helen Lantz. A 1949 graduate of New Paris High School, she was a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren where she did volunteer work, and Order of the Eastern Star, Goshen. She was a volunteer at Goshen Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and was a blood donor for Red Cross. She had been a crossing guard at Chandler Elementary School.  A motorcycle enthusiast she owned a Honda 350 and 554. Mrs. Haberstich had run the former Hudson Oil Gas Station in Goshen and had worked at Kropf’s Manufacturing. She was office manager at Plank’s Rapid Ribbons and retired in 2002 after 20 years. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 8 at the New Paris Church of the Brethren and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Pastor Stan Godfrey will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to New Paris Church of the Brethren.
