Donn Bates Neff

Donn Bates Neff, 73, of Goshen, died unexpectedly at his home early Thursday morning, June 13, 2013. He was born January 1, 1940 in Goshen to Lawrence Fred and Margaret (Bates) Neff. On June 28, 1970 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, he married Artis Lovita Underwood, the love of his life for 47 years. He is survived by three children, Sue (Dan) Buzzard of Goshen, Diane (Jim) Wendling of Wichita, Kansas, and Donn B. (Kim) Neff II of New Paris; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue (Kenton) Holdeman and Mary Ann (Marvin) Lampley, both of Goshen; and two brothers, Richard (Linda) Neff and Dale Neff, both of Syracuse. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on May 6, 2011; and a granddaughter, Aubrey Thompson. More than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family and reading western novels. He had worked as a diesel mechanic at Omnisource. No services are planned. His body will be cremated by Yoder-Culp Crematory.
