Donald E. Sheets

Donald E. Sheets, 70, of Goshen, died at his home Sunday evening, December 4, 2011. He was born in Elkhart February 13, 1941 to the late Carl and Mildred (Miller) Sheets. He married Glenda Dumph in Nappanee on July 22, 1962. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Rita Ward of Bremen; a son, Russell Sheets of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Louise (Dallas) Fox, Melba J. (Armando) Garza and Judith A. Good, all of New Paris; and a brother, Richard L. (Mary) Sheets of Bristol. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Replogle. An accountant, Mr. Sheets did bookkeeping for car companies and did taxes on the side. In the early 80's he owned an H& R Block franchise for several years in Syracuse and Nappanee. A faithful member of AA, he had attended Goshen City Church of the Brethren and was currently attending First Brethren Church, New Paris. Friends may call 3 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Ted Schowengerdt, First Brethren Church, New Paris, and Tim Yoder, Goshen City Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of choice.
