Donald E. Mockler, 87, of Goshen passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He had been ill since 2013.
He was born April 28, 1931 in White Pigeon, Michigan to Lloyd and Beulah (Christner) Mockler.
On October 16, 1999 he married his current wife, Sharon Stahly in Middlebury.
She survives along with his children, Stephen (Debbie) Mockler of New Boston, Texas, Victoria (Jeff) Troyer of Elkhart, Cindy (Lavon) Schrock of Goshen, Denise Schrock of Goshen, Dennis (Karen) Mockler of Matthews, North Carolina and David (Rose Ann) Mockler of Goshen; step-children, Cindy (Dan) Watson of Elkhart, Mike (Jeri) Bailey of Elkhart, and Scott (Beth) Bailey of Temecula, California; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 15 step-great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce (Doug) Nelson of Shipshewana; and a sister-in-law, Darlene Mockler of Middlebury.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Marcia (Miller) Mockler and Marlene (Baker) Mockler; and two brothers, Merlin and Robert Mockler.
A 1949 Middlebury High School graduate, Don served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Middlebury American Legion Post #210 and the Goshen V.F.W. Post #985.
He worked in sales for Cadillac Coffee Company for 20 years and owned and operated Unique Coffee Service for 16 years. Mr. Mockler was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren, Elkhart.
Friends may call Friday, August 3, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen. An 11 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 Celebration of Life service will be conducted at Creekside Church of the Brethren, 60455 C.R. 113, Elkhart. Pastor Rosanna McFadden will officiate.
A family burial with military honors will take place at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Creekside Church of the Brethren, Great Lakes Hospice or Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana.
