Donald Gene “Mighty” Kaser, 89, of North Fort Myers, Florida, died July 26, 2018, in North Fort Myers, Florida.
He was born June 16, 1929 in Nappanee, Indiana, to Donald L. and Edna May (Ernsberger) Kaser.
He is survived by a daughter, Melody (Richard Urgo) Kaser Urgo; son, Mark (Libby Alexander) Kaser; grandchildren, Jessica (Samson) Kincaid, Katherine (Joshua) Womack and Daniel J. Warfel; sister, Carol Wogoman and brother, Bill (Phillis) Kaser.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Evelyn Hatton.
Gene retired from NIPSCO, NiSource, in 1989 after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, active in the American Legion, DAV, Moose and Elks. He served on the Elkhart County Fair Board and was a leader in the 4-H Lamb Club. He was an elder in the Waterford United Church of Christ in Waterford, Indiana. He spent his retirement years in Ft Meyers, Florida where he was active in the Ft Myers Beach Sailing Club, the German American Club and the National Hibiscus Society.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be sent to the Hope Hospice in Cape Coral Florida, the National Kidney Foundation, or the St Jude Center for Heart Research.
