Donald K. Beckner

Donald K. Beckner, 104, passed away early Saturday morning, June 25, 2011 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He was born November 8, 1906, the son of Edson and Nina (Cutshaw) Beckner. He married Ann G. Yoder in Goshen on December 28, 1935. She died November 4, 1970. He is survived by a son, Donald E. Beckner and lady friend Pat Styer of Leola, Pennsylvania; a daughter Roberta Ann (Graham) Adams of Wolfville, Nova Scotia; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth and Adrian Beckner. He was born and raised in the Goshen, Elkhart area and lived his adult life in Goshen. He raised his family at 710 Reynolds St., Goshen and moved to College Green after retirement. His working career was with Northern Indiana Public Service Co, following in his father's footsteps as a gas serviceman. Donald was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed by his family and friends. Friends will be received 10 to 11 a.m., Monday July 11, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where an 11 a.m., funeral service will follow. Pastoral Assistant Pamela Kling of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
