Donald R. Holdeman, 55, of Goshen, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Courtyard Healthcare. He was born June 11, 1959 in Goshen to Kenny and Sharon (Wortinger) Holdeman. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Annie and Charles Vanpelt. On March 31, 1984 he married Cynthia Voorhees. She survives along with a son, Chuck (Danielle) Holdeman of Goshen; a grandson, Paxton Holdeman; a sister, Vicki (Bruce) Haberstitch of Goshen; and two half brothers, Rich and Paul Holdeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle, Annie and Charles Vanpelt. Don worked as a welder at Universal for 12 years and Keystone for five years. He also worked as a bouncer at Headquarters. He was very involved with ABATE, volunteering with benefits and serving as head of security until suffering a massive stroke seven years ago. He enjoyed fishing, his dogs, and his Harley Davidson. He cooked a good hog roast. Friends may call Wednesday, August 20, 2014, 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Thursday, August 21, 2014, funeral service will be held. Cremation at Yoder-Culp Crematory will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Pet Refuge.
