Donald W. DePue, 91, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, at his home. He had been in failing health since April.
He was born October 17, 1925 in Howe to Arlis and Elsie (Dague) DePue.
On January 25, 1948 he married Marilyn Bender in the Methodist Church in Shipshewana. She died May 25, 2014.
He is survived by two children, Judith Liebespach of Valrico, Florida and Stephen (Judy) DePue of Goshen; three grandchildren, Monique (James) Arritt, Vanessa DePue and Elizabeth (Corey) Hyers; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and two brothers, Merlin and Claude DePue.
A 1943 graduate of Brighton High School, Mr. DePue was a member of West Goshen Church of the Brethren and was also a longtime member of English Prairie Church of the Brethren.
He farmed for 64 years, retiring at age 83. He was a creative and innovative farmer, the first in Indiana to raise Charolais cattle and an early user of irrigation.
Friends may call Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 2 to 6 p.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Friends may also call Monday, December 19, from 9:30 until the 10 a.m. funeral service at West Goshen Church of the Brethren. Pastor Norm Replogle will officiate.
Burial will follow in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Memorial contributions may be given to West Goshen Church of the Brethren or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
