Donald E. Burtsfield

Donald E. Burtsfield, 92, of Goshen died Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born April 6, 1932 in Benton to Nelson and Dorothy (Mauzy) Burtsfield.

On May 10, 1953 he married Evelyn Stroup in Millersburg. She died March 18, 2016.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy (Brandon) Germano of Huntertown; daughter-in-law, Greta Burtsfield of Millersburg; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Groff of Goshen.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Burtsfield, sister, Mary Rope, and a brother, Lyle Burtsfield.

Mr. Burtsfield was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked locally for Fidler’s Concrete and DJ Construction. A member of Zion Community Church, Don was active in the community; being the unofficial scorekeeper for Fairfield Athletics for 30 years. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, long Sunday drives and was an avid Notre Dame athletics fan.

When he and wife Evelyn would winter in Florida, a favorite pass time was walking on the beach and collecting sea shells.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

An 11 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 funeral service will be conducted at Zion Community Church, 323 E. Lincoln St., Millersburg with an hour of visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Bob Doane will officiate.

Burial will follow with military honors at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
