Donald D. "Buck" Albert, 82, of Milford and formerly of Elkhart, passed away Friday morning, November 6, 2015, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born November 19, 1932 in Goshen to Earl and Genevieve (Trainor) Albert. On July 31, 1971 he married Ernestine Howard Fowler in Ringgold, Georgia. She died March 11, 2002. He is survived by two children, Dave (Amy) Fowler and Karla Newcomer, both of Goshen; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Judy (Larry) Miller and Kelly Gay, both of Goshen, Genevieve (David) Bookman of Pensacola, Florida and Janie (Larry) Neidiffer of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers, James (Joan) Albert and Chris (Rita) Albert, both of Goshen and Tim Albert of Elkhart; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Dennis Fowler; a daughter, Cheryl Kaye Kidd; a grandson, Chad Newcomer and a brother, Phillip Albert. A longtime area resident, Mr. Albert served with the US Navy from 1951 to 1955. He was well known for his work as a field mason. He was a member of the BAC Union, the American Legion, Eagles and V.F.W. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A Rosary service will begin at 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen. Rev. Father Anthony Steinacker will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John's or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
