Don Nusbaum

Dion "Don" Nusbaum 74, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Goshen, Indiana died Saturday afternoon March 23, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center following a stroke. He was born January 9, 1939 in Goshen, to Theodore A. and Gladys E. (Hartzler) Nusbaum. On August 24, 1968 he married Sharon Kay "Shari" Kilmer, in Goshen at United Church of Christ. She survives along with three daughters, Tamara Sisk, of Mesa, Arizona, Linda Jean Nusbaum, of Elkhart, and Cynthia Ann Jones, of Goshen.; a son, Bradley Eugene Nusbaum, of Lott, Texas; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and two brothers, Dennis L. Nusbaum, of Jackson, Michigan, and Richard Nusbaum, of Sarasota, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Sharon Lantz. A 1957 graduate of Goshen High School, Mr. Nusbaum spent most of his working life in the Goshen area working at Frederich Tool, Benteler Industry, and retiring from Anderson-Boling as plant manager in 1996. From 1996-2002 he owned and operated Dion's Service Company, a trucking and consulting service. He was a 30 year member of Maplecrest Country Club; Moose Lodge; VFW Auxilary, all of Goshen; American Legion Bristol Post #143; and attended First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, when in Indiana. While in Florida he was a member of North Lakeland Presbyterian Church, and Sand Pipers Country Club. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S Main St., Goshen, where a 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 funeral service will be led by Rev. Alan Griffin of First Presbyterian Church, Goshen. Burial will follow in Violett cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Fund.
