Don R. Morse

Don R. Morse, 80,of Elkhart died Monday, July 2, 2018 at home.

He was born Oct. 25, 1937 in Goshen to Charles R. and Wilma E. (Thornton) Morse.

On April 11, 1987 he married Berneda King at Calvary Methodist Church, Elkhart.

She survives along with a son, Joseph W. (Dawn) Stealy of Pembroke, Kentucky; a daughter, Sue E. Higham of Elkhart; three grandchildren, Rex Higham III and Cory and Ryan Stealy; two sisters, Geraldine M. Hartsough and Betty (Ervin) Herschberger, both of Goshen; and a brother, Dana R. (Virginia) Morse of Goshen.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles T. Morse, and a sister, Julia Brumley.

A 1955 graduate of Goshen High School, Don worked as a custodian supervisor at Goshen High School for 32 years before retiring in 2008.  He attended Liberty Community Church, Goshen and was a member of Second Chance Dog Rescue.

He was devoted to his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting.

Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 7, 2018.

Burial will follow at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
