James “Don” Harman, 60, of Goshen, died Friday, October 29, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, due to complications from diabetes.
He was born February 18, 1961 in Norfolk, Virginia to Joseph Walter Harman, Sr. and Kathleen (Martin) Harman.
In 1990 he married Marie Ayscue in Norfolk, Virginia.
She survives along with four children, Jason Harman of Goshen, Chris (Virginia) Harman of Shipshewana, Danielle Harman of Goshen and Joseph Key of Missouri; 13 grandchildren, Keylei Harman, Lucas Crist, Bentley Harman, Sydnee Harman, Zoey Harman, Christian Harman, Scarlett Key, Brody Harman, Heaven Raley, Tobiace Wheeler, John Key, Kenadi Harman and Kaylnn Robinson; and a great-grandson, Kailynd Raley.
He is also survived by, 11 siblings, Hubert Bailey, Freddy (Ann) Bailey and Judy Barnes, all of Virginia, Mary Tart, Wayne (Brenda) Harman, Steve Harman, Kathryn Willard, all of North Carolina, Frank (Cookie) Harman, of Florida, Dean (Janice) Harman, of Arkansas, and Susan Harman and Luann Navarre, both of Ohio; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Bailey and Leslie Harman.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jim Bailey, Allen, Joe and Carl Harman; a sister, Ruby Odom; three brothers-in-law, Ronald Tart, Harry Barnes and Roger Odom; and a sister-in-law, Rachel Bailey.
Don had a big heart for friends and family. He worked as an auto mechanic and enjoyed fixing most anything. Don loved racing at the New Paris Speedway with his boys.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Cremation of his body will follow the visitation.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
