Diane E. Lechel

Diane E. Lechel, 74, of Goshen, died Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Courtyard Healthcare.

She was born February 3, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Delbert and Betty (Davis) Lechel.

Survivors include three children, Jennifer (Todd) Smith of Middlebury, John McCourt of Goshen and Jessica McCourt of Bristol; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Dorothy Lechel; sister, Mary Ellen Bailey; brothers, Bill and Charles “Chuck” Lechel; niece, Karen Olsen; nephew, Travis Lechel; and step sister, Diana Styer.

A 1965 Goshen High School graduate, Diane worked as a Certified Nurses Aide and Home Health care worker. She also worked as a lab technician for Burger Dairy for five years before full retirement.

The Full Gospel Community Church in New Paris, pastored by Fred Curry, was her chosen place of worship.

She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Bingo, jigsaw puzzles, and time with family and friends at Courtyard.

Cremation is planned at this time. Burial will take place at a later date.
