Devera Jane Elmore, 74, of Goshen, died Monday, December 6, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born April 21, 1936 in Goshen to the late Duerill and Gladys (Wogoman) Evans. She married Ralph Elmore on November 13, 1953 in Muncie. He survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Zonea (Gary) Bainter of Bristol, Mary (Lavone) Miller of Milford and Teri (Randy) Sizemore of New Paris; a son, Ralph Michael (Joann) Elmore of Goshen; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorry (Vernon) Steward of California and Diane Maloney of Porter, Texas; and four brothers, William “Bill” (Betty) Evans of Bristol, Phillip Evans and Roger Evans, both of Elkhart and Jerry (Sally) Evans of Goshen. She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Evans and a sister, Dorothy Wendy Hoover. A lifelong Goshen resident, she was baptized at the Little Pine Church of the Brethren and attended the West Goshen Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She worked at East Side Electric for 21 years and eight years at Goshen Community Schools. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 7 and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. A 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2010, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Pastor Norm Replogle officiating. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to the West Goshen Church of the Brethren or to the VFW Auxiliary.
