Dennis L. Sorg, 66, of Goshen, died unexpectedly late Saturday afternoon, December 9, 2006, in the Elkhart General Hospital emergency room. He was born in Goshen on December 17, 1939, to Richard William and Helen (Rassi) Sorg. He married Judi Miller on August 7, 1960, at the Goshen City Church of the Brethren. She survives. A 1957 graduate of New Paris High School, he attended Gemology School in Elgin, Illinois, where he graduated in 1959 as a licensed watchmaker. He worked for Sorg Jewelers. He and his brother, Dick, owned and operated Sorg 66 in Waterford before opening up Sorg Dodge in 1964. Mr. Sorg served as president of Sorg Dodge since 1978. Mr. Sorg was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, where he served on Session. He was also a member of Maplecrest Country Club and had served on many boards, including Goshen Community Bank, Society Bank, Red Cross and Dodge Advertising. He is survived by his wife, Judi; two sons, Randall (Kelly Kluskowski) Sorg and Toby (Lisa) Sorg, and a daughter, Stephanie (Luis) Iniesta, all of Goshen; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Lee Sorg in 1978. Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m., Monday and 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen. Rev. Alan Griffin of the First Presbyterian Church and Rev. Will Schieler of Milford will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, or to the charity of your choice.
