Dennis E. Rheinheimer, 65, of Goshen, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 16, 2015, at Elkhart Hospice House. He had been ill since November 19.
He was born September 17, 1950 in Goshen to Floyd A. and Katie M. (Miller) Rheinheimer.
On March 23, 1974 he married Teresa “Terry” Broach.
She survives along with two daughters, Cristina (Michael) Klotz and Laura (Pedro de Leon) Rheinheimer; two grandchildren, Noah and Liliana Klotz; two sisters, Shirley (Dale) Riegsecker and Linda Young, both of Middlebury; and two brothers, Floyd (Cindy) Rheinheimer and Ron (Kristan) Rheinheimer, both of Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Victoria.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Rheinheimer taught third grade at Harrison Primary Center, South Bend before retiring in 2009.
He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury where he served as a Stephen minister and taught Sunday school. He volunteered at Menno-Hof and served on the board at Amigo Centre in Sturgis, Michigan.
Friends may call Friday, December 18, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and again Saturday from 11:30 to 1 p.m., at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury.
A Saturday, December 19, 2015, funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Kent Miller officiating.
Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Gracelawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital or Boys and Girls Club of Middlebury.
