Dennis P. "Denny" Hite 59, of New Paris, died unexpectedly Wednesday night, December 11, 2013, while a patient at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. He was born March 22, 1954 in Goshen to Willis H. "Bill" and Phyllis (Smith) Hite. He is survived by his father Bill, and step-mother, Betty J. Hite; daughter, Haily N. Hite, and her mother and Denny's long time friend, Angie Gayden, all of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, William H. "Butch" Hite. Denny had worked in tool maintenance for many years. He currently was working at Crossroads R.V. in Topeka. He enjoyed riding, working on and restoring motorcycles, especially his 1973 Harley-Davidson. His 1972 El Camino was also kept in good condition and a pleasure for him to drive. He will be well remembered for his calm, easy going manner, exercising his steady "leveling" hand at times of perceived crisis by others. His family and friends were touched by his soothing voice and personal warmth. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 7 p.m. celebration of life service will be held. Those who attend will have the opportunity to share personal tributes.
