Dennis John Conrad

Dennis John Conrad, 70, of Columbia City died at his home Sunday, November 23, 2014. He was born July 19, 1944 in Goshen to Harley and Myrtle (Temple) Conrad. He is survived by a daughter, Stacy Menzie of Nappanee; a son, Scott (Dawn) Conrad of Rushville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Caleb, Kelsey and Kylie Conrad and Ryan and Brooklyn Menzie; two brothers, Harley Conrad, Jr. of Syracuse and William (Kathleen) Conrad of South Bend; and two step-brothers, Robert (Pat) Farber of Syracuse and Keith Farber of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Melba Conrad; two brothers, Robert Pierce and Kenny Winters; and a half sister, Norma Jean Conrad. A fireman in Goshen for 20 years, Mr. Conrad served with the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. He was a 1964 graduate of Goshen High School; a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. and a past member of the Moose Lodge. Friends may call Friday, November 28, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., at Community Church of Waterford, Goshen. An 11 a.m. Friday funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Chris Russell. Burial will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne following cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to Hoosier Veterans' Assistance Foundation, www.hvafofindiana.org.
