Dennis Evard Bliss, 63, of Goshen, died Monday afternoon, July 25, 2011, at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Marion, after an extended illness. He was born in Goshen on August 5, 1947, to the late Lloyd Merrill and Alice E. (Earll) Bliss. He is survived by a son, Joseph (Kim) Bliss of Goshen and a sister, Elaine (Charles) VanBelleghem of Lawton, Michigan. A longtime Goshen resident, Mr. Bliss, worked in production in various factories in the Elkhart County area. He served with the US Army at Fort Carson. He was a member of the Goshen DAV; the Moose Lodge in Goshen; the American Legion in Bristol; and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed his motorcycles. Friends may call 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11:00 a.m. memorial service will be conducted by Goshen VFW Chaplain John Piecuch. Burial will follow in the veterans' section at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Goshen Moose, Goshen DAV Post 15, or Bristol American Legion.
