Dennis L. Alwine, 82, of Goshen, died Friday, October 3, 2025 at Goshen Hospital.
He was born on August 6, 1943 in Goshen, Indiana to James and Orpha (Blough) Alwine.
On July 1, 1977 he married Esther Yoder in Toledo, Ohio.
Survivors include, his wife of 48 year; two stepchildren, Stacy D. (Matt) Young, Edwardsburg, Michigan and Scott C. (Dawn) Conrad, Schaumburg, Illinois; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Dennis dedicated many years to his working career as a shipping clerk for Johnson Controls from 1968 to 1985, for World Precious Instruments, LCC. from 1985 to 2000, and finally for LeSea Broadcasting from 2000 until his retirement in 2007.
He was an active member of Grace Community Church and a member of the CMA and Star Riders motorcycle groups. Dennis was passionate about sports; he coached slow-pitch softball, leading the Oasis softball team to win many trophies. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and a big fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Chicago Bears.
Dennis and Esther enjoyed 15 years in Florida from 1985 to 2000. They enjoyed traveling, having visited all 50 states, 19 islands, Israel, as well as other countries.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 10:30 until the 11:30 funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
