Denise K. Lloyd, 65, went to be with the Lord, Saturday afternoon, November 8, 2014, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born July 16, 1949 in Kendallville to Dean and Dorothy (Tom) Cripe. On June 19, 1971 she married James D. Lloyd in Goshen. He survives along with two sons, Joseph (Joan) Lloyd of Elkhart and James (Laura) Lloyd of Martinsburg, Pennsylvania.; five grandchildren, Cullen, Mae, Cavan, Nevin and Rowan Lloyd; and two sisters, Deanne (Steve) Base of Osceola and Donita (Bob) Slack of White Pigeon, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Lloyd was an active member of First Baptist Church, Goshen, where she taught children's Sunday school for many years. She also participated and provided leadership in many women's Bible studies. She had worked as a teacher's assistant in the Goshen and Middlebury school systems. She enjoyed reading, gardening and volunteering at RETA (Reason Enough to Act). Friends may call Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and an hour prior to the 10 a.m., funeral service on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Goshen. Dr. Rev. Greggory Lanzen and Rev. Jim Shrock will officiate. Burial will follow in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Goshen for missions.
