Delta B. Stroman

Delta B. Stroman, 98, of Goshen, died at her home on Saturday evening, October 4, 2008.  She had been in failing health the past two years. She was born in Middlebury, Indiana, on May 10, 1910, to Clarence and Dessie (Kime) Troyer.  She married Leon V. Stroman on August 23, 1931 in Goshen.  He died February 21, 2001. A lifelong resident of Goshen, Mrs. Stroman graduated from Goshen High School in 1929.  She was a homemaker and co-owner of Troyer Seed Company with her husband, Leon from 1954 to 1976.  She was a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School and helped put on the fall bazaars.  She enjoyed collecting recipes, teddy bears and antiques.  She enjoyed arts and crafts and working with flowers. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Ron) Cooper of Bristol; a son, Vernard L. (Vicky) Stroman of Goshen; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; and a sister, Ruth Hartzler in 2007. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 8 and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 9, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Licensed minister Timothy Yoder and Pastor Yvonne Riege, both of Goshen City Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be designated to Goshen City Church of the Brethren or Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
