Delbert L. Yoder, 71, of Millersburg, died Sunday afternoon, September 1, 2013, at his home. He had been in failing health since January. He was born April 18, 1942 in Goshen to, Herman Kilmer and Kathryn (Yoder) Kilmer. On January 9, 1966 he married Catherine E. Gorsuch at St. Marks United Methodist Church in Goshen. She survives along with two brothers, Ralph Kilmer, and Phill (Arleta) Kilmer, both of Goshen; two sisters, Wanda (Allen) Cross, of Goshen, and Connie (Charles) Smith, of Ligonier; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom he was very close to. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marcia Kilmer. Mr. Yoder was a lifelong area resident. He served two years, 1967-68, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, for 1W service. He worked for more than 30 years at Starcraft, as a boat assembler, and also worked at Homecrest for six years. He enjoyed camping, stock car races, and was loyal to the Chicago Bears. Visitation with family will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013, and one hour prior the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, September 6, 2013, all at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Brenda Meyer and Rev. Doug Kaufman, both of Benton Mennonite Church, will officiate. Cremation will take place. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sharing Fund at Benton Mennonite Church.
