Debra Lee Conway, 67, of Union, Michigan, died Friday, February 21, 2025 at Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 21, 1957 in Angola to Harold L. and Nancy D. (West) Dowell.

Survivors include her mother, Nancy D. Dowell; two children, Dawn (Brad) Smith of Niles, Michigan and Scott Conway (Christina Duncan) of Union, Michigan; five grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler, Paige, Lewis and Katelyn; four great-grandchildren, Colton, Addison, Gabbie and Owen; two siblings, Mike Dowell and LeAnne Vilders; and her lifetime companion, Bill Butler.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold L. and her loving husband, Gary “Leroy” Conway.

Debra loved to travel and sunny weather. Jamaica was her favorite. For 10 years, she went there every February with Bill. She also enjoyed being at the cabin and  fishing at Lake Erie. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandkids. She was an avid reader and could finish reading a book in one day. James Patterson and Danielle Steele were her favorite writers.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 27 from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Vale will officiate.

Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Yoder-Culp Funeral Home to offset the cost of funeral services.
