Debbie S. Wiese, 73, of Middlebury died Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Northwestern Hospital, Chicago.
She was born November 29, 1949 in Goshen.
Debbie is survived by her three children, Mindi (David) Swihart of Goshen, Ryan (Lindsay) Wiese of Osceola and Eric (Shanna) Wiese of Middlebury; and four grandchildren, Brinley and Beau Wiese, Keelie Brazil, and Rachel Swihart.
Also surviving are three sisters, Cheryl (Tom) Perry of Merritt Island, Florida, Tammy (Bob) Glass of Townsend, Tennessee and Teresa (Pete) Harrison of Rocklin, California; and four brothers, Greg (Mary) Cripe of Mahtomedi, Minnesota, Dr. David Cripe of Bristol, Dan (Barb) Cripe of Elkhart and Gary (Jill) Cripe of Holland, Michigan.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Cripe; mother, Helen (Armstrong) Rice; husband, Max Wiese; two infant sons, Brian and Scott Wiese; and a sister, Lorie Johnson.
A long-time member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Debbie was a self-motivated entrepreneur. She was a manager for Jafra Cosmetics since 1980, and co-owned Seasonal Treasures at Shipshewana Flea Market for many years. More recently she worked part time for the Barn Door Antique Boutique in Middlebury.
Debbie was the leader for the Circle of Friends fundraising team that raised money for Cancer Resources of Elkhart County. She also enjoyed being part of the Stone Lake Community since the late 1980’s and a full-time resident since 2001.
Debbie loved her family. She loved being with her kids, grandchildren, and large extended family (siblings, nieces, nephews, etc.). She typically organized the family gatherings and loved nothing more than getting together with everyone. Deb was also known for her many funny stories, most of which centered around her mishaps. She also enjoyed the 45 plus years she spent with her friends in the Euchre club.
Friends may call Tuesday, February 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S. Main St., Goshen. A 10 a.m. funeral mass will be held Wednesday, February 8 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Logan will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
