Dean Lamar Bender

Dean Lamar Bender, 71, of Goshen, died unexpectedly Friday, August 11, 2023.

He was born March 28, 1952 in LaGrange County to Alvin and Clara (Miller) Bender.

He is survived by a brother, Les (Judy) Bender of Albion: three sisters, Gwen (Mike) Stump of Elkhart, Rose (Steven) Kienzler of LaOtto and Bonnie (Tom) Harlan of Ocala, Florida; a sister-in-law, Clara Bender of Topeka and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dayle Ann Bender and three brothers, Romayne, Robert and Gene Bender.

Dean enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and attending their athletic events. Some of his hobbies included playing guitar and riding his motorcycle. He worked for Goshen Rubber, retiring in 2018.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Harold Gingerich will officiate.

Burial will follow at Clinton Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations in his name may be given to Wounded Warrior Project.
